WANTED

By the FBI – Cleveland Division

UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID CONFINEMENT – AGGRAVATED MURDER

SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS

Oscar H. Juarez was convicted of aggravated murder and sentenced to life in prison on June 24, 1975, following the shooting death of a man in Toledo, Ohio, on May 28, 1975. Juarez escaped from Marion Correctional Institution in Ohio on April 2, 1978, after sawing through the bars and cutting a fence. Juarez has since been arrested in Texas and California, but was not identified as a prison escapee because of his use of aliases and fictitious numeric identifiers.

An arrest warrant was issued for Juarez on April 2, 1978, by the State of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, after Juarez was charged with escape. A federal arrest warrant was issued on February 18, 2003, by the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division, after Juarez was charged with unlawful flight to avoid confinement.

2008 Uniform Crime Statistics Released by the FBI

Posted by Task Force On July - 19 - 2009

The 2008 Uniform Crime Statistics (UCS) were released in June 2009 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program was conceived in 1929 by the International Association of Chiefs of Police to meet a need for reliable, uniform crime statistics for the nation. In 1930, the FBI was tasked with collecting, publishing, and archiving those statistics. Today, several annual statistical publications, such as the comprehensive Crime in the United States, are produced from data provided by nearly 17,000 law enforcement agencies across the United States.

Other annual publications, such as Hate Crime Statistics and Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted address specialized facets of crime such as hate crime or the murder and assaults of law enforcement officers respectively.
